History and significance of the Victoria Chinese Public School, Huaqiao Gongli Xuexiao 1899-1999

Abstract

This paper will detail the history of the Victoria Chinese Public School (Huaqiao Gongli Zuexiao) and demonstrate the impact and influence that the school has had on the Chinese children and Chinese community of Victoria. It will also bring to light the valuable cross-cultural exchange that has enriched and continues to enrich our Western community here on Vancouver Island.
