The impetus for the review arose out of research that documented the conditions necessary for effective practice within an integrated childcare-lifeskills-academic program for young mothers. While funding appears to be available for young mothers to continue their education, the research simultaneously highlighted the plethora of alternative educational options for at-risk girls and boys.
