Despite the fact that palliative care is included in the national health plan, access to care in the rural village is lacking. The Rubingo Medical Aid Station provides basic health care to a small village staffed by Canadian volunteer nurses. During a two month volunteer period, information was obtained by interview, observation, listening to stories, and working at the Aid Station.
