Estimates of total factor productivity for the manufacturing sector of British Columbia, and for selected manufacturing industries, are calculated for the period between 1961 and 1988. The technique used is based on the Tornquist approximation to a Divisia index. Tornquist indices are consistent with a model of production which is based on a translog aggregate production function.
