Focus & Scope:
The Divergent/Convergent journal was a production of the University 101 and 102 students. Launched in 2006, the University 101 program offered free, non-credit, academic courses to students who have faced barriers to post-secondary education.
About the program:
University 101 was a program that offered no-cost, non-credit, academic courses that introduced students to a wide range of university topics. Uni 101 studied the humanities while Uni 102 looked at the social sciences. Topics changed on a weekly basis, and each topic was presented by UVic professors. At the end of each course, students were encourage to write pieces that could be published in the journal.
