| dc.description.abstract | This paper argues that there are three valid approaches to the problem of human (ab)uses of non-human animals. The rights/equality, ecofeminist and poststructural arguments each problematize the traditional division between human and non-human animals, although at times these approaches criticize and supplement each other. In particular, each perspective addresses the question of animal subjectivity in different and interesting ways. Together they suggest potentially innovative strategies that activists and concerned people alike can use in the effort to address the oppression of animals. | |
