dc.description.abstract | From ancient myths to early advances in formal logic and mathematics, the story of artificial intelligence (AI) began centuries before the rise of modern computers. Today, modern AI has impacted nearly every area of human activity - from industries such as healthcare and transportation to science fiction media and popular culture. The story of artificial intelligence is far from over, with current trends and research suggesting large areas of impact in the future. This report examines three questions relating to AI: where did AI come from, what is the current state of AI, and what does the future of AI look like. A brief history of artificial intelligence is presented followed by a literature review and discussion of the impacts and trends of artificial intelligence research. | en_US |
