dc.description.abstractThis research was a part of a larger project being conducted by UVic's Historical Injustices and Current Realities research collective that looks into the history of UVic's campus lands. Previous research has looked into the patterns of naming of UVic Buildings. I wanted to find some of the stories behind these decisions. My research focused on archival records, including old naming committee correspondence in the 1970s and 1980s and recordings of oral histories (interviews of people who were decision-makes in the early years of the university).
