Her research spans interactive segmentation, visualization, computational geometry, and shape analysis, which are all highly relevant topics for cutting-edge medical applications. Professor Nyström possesses excellent leadership skills, as shown by her commitment to serve on many Swedish and international academic, professional, and research communities. She has served on the executive committee of the International Association on Pattern Recognition (IAPR) from 2008-2018, and as IAPR President from 2014-2016.en
