My Presentation is on Pannexin 1 an ATP channel protein in the brain. I have analyzed both the theoretical side as well as the practical side of this protein. The theoretical side via research of various research papers regarding neural development as well as the role of Pannexin 1 and the functional workings of western blotting. The proteins used for this project were extracted from lab mice in accordance with the ethical protocols as laid out by the University. Pannexin 1 has been shown through previous experimentation by Swayne lab to decrease in concentration over neural development. irregularities in Pannexin 1 expression have been linked to disorders such as stroke and Alzheimer’s disease. My poster is on Pannexin 1 and the main methods and theories that I have used to analyze it.en_US
