dc.description.abstractEnglish Language Arts teachers are currently faced with the task of engaging students at a time of increasing disengagement. Research has already demonstrated the importance of utilizing and teaching empathy to support student engagement. This project bases its foundations on that critical research to build a structured approach to activating students' critical thinking through empathetic connections in order to better engage with learning tasks in the classroom.en_US
