This project examines the barriers to accessing treatment services for mothers with substance use disorder. It uses an intersectional approach to understand how gender, race/ethnicity, indigenity, and socioeconomic status influence access to treatment services for mothers. The findings illustrate that mothers experience unique barriers to accessing treatment services due to gender norms/expectations, additional stigmatization, and a lack of available resources that provide gender-specific, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practices.en_US
