dc.description.abstractDeveloping new chemical synthesis methods for building chiral multicyclic ring systems. This project builds upon an aldehyde-functionalized bicyclobutane to make more previously unknown bicyclobutanes. All of these were tested based on previous reactivity methods to demonstrate their synthetic capabilities. The goal is to demonstrate new ways to access three-dimensionality in pharmaceutical candidates.
