| dc.description.abstract | In this paper, I advocate for the potential of mindfulness as a pedagogical tool that supports the teaching and learning of the practice of nursing. It is my conviction that mindfulness based in contemplative pedagogy can offer a foundation of teaching and learning to both students and teachers by emphasizing a way of being and knowing that must be developed in order to enact the practice of nursing. I contend that mindfulness can support nurse educators to be responsive to each moment, to each other, to each student, and to each patient as a way to navigate the multiple demands and inherent unknowns in the world of nursing education. | en_US |
