Greek and Latin Roots, Part 1 (Latin) and Part 2 (Greek). Contribution of Greek and Latin to the English Language

Abstract

This series examines the systematic principles by which a large portion of English vocabulary has evolved from Latin and (to a lesser degree) from Greek. All areas in health, law or the social sciences use specialized vocabulary based on Latin and Greek vocabulary. This open textbook helps you master the vocabulary: how words work and where they come from. The textbook may be of interest to Greek and Roman Studies departments across North America or to healthcare and law programs
