Through the lens of narrative inquiry, my project reflects on my experiences as an Indigenous language teacher leading to the creation of early literacy resources that support learning to read in Bak̓ʷəmgala – Kʷak̓ʷala, Lik̓ʷala. I have categorized my learning resources in the following four ways: letter names, letter sounds, sound pairs, and high frequency words. My reflective practice as a Liǧʷiɫdax̌ʷ educator has revealed that these four elements together make up the basics of reading in Bak̓ʷəmgalaen_US
