dc.description.abstractThis paper is an examination of diversity in archaeological assemblages within a culture type. The Gulf of Georgia Phase of the Northwest Coast provides an interesting, previously uninvestigated area to examine such diversity. It is propo here that such diversity is limited by the environment that the assemblage occurs in. The artifact assemblages from 18 Gulf of Georgia components are summarized in a common typology and then put through a clustering routine in an attempt to clearly show the relationship between culture and environment.en_US
