As smartphones become ubiquitous, it is not surprising that they are being used for entering, storing, and accessing personal health information. This presentation will describe what is meant by the term mobile Personal Health Record (mPHR). Additionally, select examples of currently available mPHRs will be provided. Despite their deployment, adoption, and increasing popularity, there is a paucity of research on mPHRs. Some of the obstacles and promising possibilities of these new systems, as well as research topics that warrant further investigation with respect to mPHRs will be discussed.en_US
