Abstract
This paper introduces preliminary research into a low-cost, reproducible, and scalable system for creating a virtual mixing environment suitable for use in higher-education settings. The system uses industry standard software (SketchUp, Unity3D, Wwise) to model and create a virtual environment of the Creative Research and Technology Lab (CReaTe Lab) at the University of Victoria, Canada. FOA Ambisonic Room Impulse Responses (ARIR) were taken to provide the source for convolution and binauralization treatments within the game engine.
