The idea of community lawyering is increasingly being pointed to as an effective mechanism to serve the legal needs of impoverished and underprivileged groups. Instead of advocacy on behalf of an individual client, advocacy on behalf of a group is seen as more efficient and cost effective, particularly when the group as a whole is at odds with the social, economic, cultural, and political situation.en_US
